Description
The Mini Sodium Light Source, also known as a spectrometer light source for atomic absorption experiments, is designed for use with compatible flame spectrometers and general optical teaching work. It is suitable for chemistry laboratories, physics laboratories, university teaching laboratories and supervised classroom spectroscopy demonstrations. This light source supports atomic absorption experiment setups where a sodium source is required for compatible teaching spectrometers. It can also be used for general optical work where a controlled spectral lamp source is needed for demonstration or observation.
The unit is described as suitable for use with mercury, sodium, neon or helium spectral lamps. This provides flexibility for educational spectroscopy activities where different spectral lamp types may be used to demonstrate emission lines and optical behaviour. The tubular shaped lamp is mounted inside a cylindrical pillar positioned on the top surface of the power supply. This arrangement supports clear lamp positioning during practical spectroscopy demonstrations. A selection of apertures is provided to support controlled viewing of the light source. The black ventilated cylindrical shield fits over the pillar and includes several slits and apertures suitable for viewing the light source.
The shield can be rotated to select the desired aperture during use. This helps teachers and students adjust the viewing arrangement for different optical demonstrations and compatible spectrometer setups. This product involves electrical operation and spectral lamp use, so it should be used only under appropriate supervision by trained staff or qualified instructors. Users should follow suitable laboratory safety procedures, allow adequate ventilation, avoid covering the shield openings and handle lamps according to the relevant lamp safety requirements.
LabChoice Australia supplies Mini Sodium Light Sources for chemistry teaching laboratories, physics laboratories, school science departments, university laboratories and spectroscopy education environments. They are suitable for supervised atomic absorption demonstrations, flame spectrometer accessory use, spectral lamp observation and general optical teaching activities using compatible lamps and apparatus.
