Description
The Pendulum Bobs, Brass, Steel and Plastic, Multiple Sizes, also known as laboratory pendulum weights, are designed for physics experiments involving pendulum motion, oscillation and simple harmonic motion. These pendulum bobs are suitable for classroom demonstrations where students investigate the relationship between pendulum length, period, frequency, amplitude, mass and gravitational acceleration. The brass set of 3 pendulum bobs includes 1 × 25 mm brass bob, 1 × 20 mm brass bob and 1 × 12.5 mm brass bob, providing multiple diameters for practical comparison activities. Individual pendulum bob options are also available, including 25 mm brass, 20 mm brass, 12.5 mm brass, 20 mm steel and 20 mm plastic.
Each bob has a small hole drilled through the body and a larger counterbored hole on one side. This allows a knot to be made in the string and pulled into the larger hole, helping hide and secure the knot during approved use. These bobs are useful for lessons covering pendulum timing, oscillation, periodic motion, energy transfer, damping, variables in experiments and measurement of gravitational acceleration. Users should confirm the required material, diameter, string type, support setup and experiment method before ordering or use. Pendulum bobs should be attached securely before use. Do not use damaged string, loose knots or unstable support stands.
Keep faces, hands, glassware and other equipment clear of the swinging path. Metal bobs can cause injury or damage if dropped or swung incorrectly. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate teacher or laboratory supervision. This item is supplied as the selected pendulum bob or bob set only. String, support stand, clamp, ruler, timer, protractor, worksheets and additional pendulum accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Pendulum Bobs for school science laboratories, physics classrooms, university teaching laboratories and STEM programs requiring practical equipment for pendulum and oscillation experiments.
