- Description
Description
The Graphite Carbon Rods, also known as carbon electrode rods or graphite electrodes, are designed for laboratory and educational experiments involving electrical conductivity, electrolysis and chemical reactions. These rods can be used as electrodes in compatible experiments where current is passed through liquids, supporting classroom demonstrations of electrolysis, redox reactions and electrolytic processes. They are also useful for selected heat, burning, combustion and conductivity demonstrations where graphite carbon rods are suitable for the approved method.
Available sizes include 75 mm × 6 mm and 100 mm × 10 mm, with listed weights of 0.004 kg and 0.013 kg respectively. These rods are suitable for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories, chemistry classrooms and physics practicals requiring simple conductive carbon electrodes. Users should confirm rod size, electrode holder compatibility, electrolyte type, power supply, current limit, chemical compatibility and complete experiment method before ordering or use.
Do not connect directly to mains electricity or unsuitable power supplies. Use only with approved low-voltage laboratory power sources and teacher-controlled circuit procedures. During electrolysis or combustion demonstrations, gases, heat or chemical products may be generated depending on the electrolyte or reaction used. Use suitable ventilation, PPE and approved chemical handling procedures. Graphite rods may leave marks or fine carbon dust during handling. Avoid inhaling dust, avoid rubbing eyes after handling and wash hands after use.
This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the selected graphite carbon rod only. Power supply, leads, electrode holders, clips, beakers, electrolytes, burners, PPE and additional experiment accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Graphite Carbon Rods and electrochemistry teaching accessories for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical electrodes for electrolysis, conductivity and chemistry demonstrations.
