Description
The Electrostatic Rubbing Cloths, Wool and Cotton, Set of 2, also known as electrostatic friction cloths, are designed for use in static electricity demonstrations with compatible plastic rods. This kit includes a pair of rubbing cloths made from wool and cotton flannelette, allowing students to generate electrostatic charge by rubbing suitable plastic rods during supervised physics activities. The cloths are useful for demonstrating charge transfer, attraction, repulsion, induced charge and the behaviour of charged objects in introductory electrostatics experiments.
This set supports practical classroom demonstrations using plastic rods, electroscopes, pith balls and other compatible electrostatic teaching apparatus where supplied separately. Users should confirm rod material, experiment method, humidity conditions and apparatus compatibility before use, as electrostatic demonstrations can be affected by moisture and surface condition. Avoid using electrostatic apparatus near sensitive electronic devices, flammable vapours or equipment that may be affected by static discharge.
