Description
IEC microscope lamps for bench illumination, supplied as 220/240V mains models using a 25W pearl lamp with either clear or blue tint front glass, or as a 12V AC/DC low voltage model using a 12V 20W QI lamp with inbuilt reflector. The blue tint glass is specified to compensate the red content of incandescent light and make the output appear whiter. All versions are described as virtually unbreakable and use a strong stainless steel stand that holds the lamp body together, with removal by a firm pull to spring off the stand. Cable and connection style varies by model, 240V models use a 1 m two core mains cable with two pin plug, 12V model uses a 1 m two core lead with moulded stackable 4 mm banana plugs and allows lamp to lamp plug through.

IEC microscope lamp popular for many years, 220/240V mains operated using a 25W pearl lamp. Front glass is clear on this version. Instrument described as virtually unbreakable. Stainless steel stand is strong, simple and effective and holds the microscope lamp body together, to remove the lamp it must be pulled firmly to spring off the stand. A 2 core mains cable 1 m long connects the lamp to power. Note: unit is not tested as a double insulated device, housing is non metallic and the lamp socket is for two connections only and is fully approved. Lamp cannot use an earth wire, therefore a two pin plug and a two core flex is fitted.

A 2 core cable 1 m long with moulded stackable 4 mm banana plugs fitted connects the lamp to 12V AC or DC power, and one lamp can plug into the socket of any other lamp so there is no need to run each lamp back to the 12V power supply.
