Description
The Air Track Glider Weights, also known as air track collision experiment mass sets, are designed for adjusting glider mass during low-friction dynamics experiments. They are suitable for school physics laboratories, university teaching laboratories and supervised educational mechanics demonstrations. This range supports controlled mass changes during air track experiments involving acceleration, momentum, collision behaviour and force relationships. By changing the glider mass, students can compare motion results under different loading conditions.
The slotted style brass weight set is designed to fit compatible glider weight blocks. The supplied set includes 4 × 50 g, 4 × 20 g and 4 × 10 g weights, allowing flexible mass combinations for repeated classroom experiments. Old style brass block weights are also available for legacy glider formats. These block weights clamp inside the glider spine and are listed in 100 g and 50 g options. An old style 200 mm glider compensating weight with screw is also listed. The supplied note states that this compensating weight is removable on older gliders but is now permanent in later model gliders.
These parts help laboratories maintain existing air track systems, replace missing components and configure gliders for specific collision or motion experiments. Users should confirm glider type, weight block compatibility and mounting method before selection.
LabChoice Australia supplies Air Track Glider Weights for school physics departments, university teaching laboratories and educational mechanics workspaces. They are suitable for supervised air track experiments involving collision studies, momentum comparison, acceleration measurement, mass variation and low-friction motion using compatible gliders and safe classroom procedures.
