Description
Dissolved Oxygen Probe DO803 Luminescent Optical is a replacement optical DO probe designed for compatible DO850 and DO8500 Portable Optical DO meters. It is used for dissolved oxygen measurement in water testing, environmental monitoring, laboratory analysis and field measurement workflows.
The probe uses luminescent optical dissolved oxygen technology instead of traditional galvanic or polarographic measurement. Because the optical probe does not consume oxygen during testing, readings can stabilise quickly without the same stirring requirement normally associated with traditional DO probes. This makes the DO803 easier to operate in routine testing conditions. The user can place the probe into the liquid sample and wait for the reading to stabilise, making the process closer to standard pH-style measurement.
The optical sensing design also removes common maintenance tasks associated with traditional DO probes. There are no electrolytes to replenish and no cathodes or anodes to clean, reducing routine servicing time for regular users. The supplied information states that readings typically stabilise within 1 to 3 minutes, while calibration takes approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Frequent calibration is not required in the same way as traditional polarographic or galvanic DO probes.
The replaceable optical membrane cap has a listed service life of more than 8000 hours. This supports longer-term use and helps reduce the frequency of membrane replacement compared with older DO probe styles.

This probe is supplied with a 2-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship, subject to the supplier warranty terms.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, improper use, normal wear and tear, transportation damage, incorrect storage, failure to follow product instructions, unauthorised maintenance, unauthorised modifications, unauthorised repair, unsuitable product combinations or external causes beyond normal product use.
