Description
The Light Liquids Hydrometer, Glass, also known as a Baume light liquids hydrometer or light liquid specific gravity hydrometer, is designed for measuring compatible liquids with density lower than water. This Thimson hydrometer is listed for specific gravity and Baume measurement, supporting laboratory workflows where light liquids, oils or other compatible solutions need to be checked. The hydrometer is made from glass and has a bulb shape as listed, with an overall length of 260 mm.
The supplied range is listed as 10 to 70 °Bé, combined with 0.700 to 1.000 specific gravity, making it suitable for selected light-liquid density measurement applications. This product may be used in laboratories, teaching environments, quality checking areas and compatible industrial workflows where a simple floating hydrometer is required for light liquid measurement. Users should confirm measuring range, scale type, sample temperature, cylinder size, liquid compatibility, reading method and cleaning procedure before ordering or use.
For reliable readings, use a clean hydrometer and a suitable measuring cylinder, allow the hydrometer to float freely, avoid contact with the cylinder wall and read the scale according to the approved laboratory method. Glass hydrometers should be handled carefully. Avoid impact, dropping, sudden temperature change and contact with unsuitable chemicals that may affect the glass or scale. Do not use broken or cracked hydrometers. If breakage occurs, follow approved glass cleanup and chemical spill procedures for the liquid being tested.
This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the selected Light Liquids Hydrometer only. Measuring cylinder, sample liquid, thermometer, calibration certificate, protective case, cleaning accessories, PPE and additional hydrometers are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Light Liquids Hydrometers and laboratory liquid measurement tools for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories, research facilities, industrial laboratories and general laboratory environments requiring practical instruments for light liquid specific gravity and Baume measurement.
