Description
The MiniPak Switched AC/DC Power Supply, also known as a compact low-voltage classroom power supply, is designed for school science laboratories and physics classrooms requiring selectable AC and DC outputs in a smaller housing format. This IEC MiniPak power supply provides switched output voltages at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 V in both AC and DC. The output current is listed as about 5 to 6 A, supporting a range of compatible low-voltage classroom experiments.
The DC output is full-wave rectified but not filtered. This makes the unit suitable for many general teaching demonstrations, while users should confirm suitability where smoother filtered DC is required. The MiniPak design is more compact than the standard workhorse-style classroom power supply and uses 4 mm safety sockets instead of 4 mm terminals. This supports connection with compatible 4 mm safety leads used in teaching laboratories. The mains switch is positioned on the rear panel, while an LED indicator shows power status. During normal operation, the LED indicates power on. If the output is overloaded, the LED changes from green to red.
Overload protection is provided by an automatically resetting overload system. When the overload trips and resets, it provides an audible click, helping users identify the protection action during classroom operation. The housing includes carry handles and rubber feet, supporting practical bench placement, classroom storage and routine movement between teaching spaces.
This power supply is suitable for basic electricity studies, lamp circuits, motor demonstrations, electromagnet experiments, resistance investigations, current and voltage activities, and other low-voltage classroom practicals using compatible loads. Users should confirm the selected voltage setting, AC or DC output mode, current requirement, lead compatibility and load suitability before operation. Connected circuits must remain within the rated capability of the power supply.
This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only. As a mains-powered electrical device, it should be used under appropriate teacher or laboratory supervision. This item is supplied as the MiniPak switched AC/DC power supply only. Leads, meters, lamps, motors, circuit boards, loads and additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
