Description
The Glass Fibre Membrane Filters, also known as glass fibre filter discs, are designed for laboratory filtration where particulate retention, good water flow and a 47 mm filter format are required. These filters are made from glass fibre media with an organic binder. The 0.45 µm filter rating supports use in general particulate filtration, suspended solids work, sample preparation and routine laboratory liquid filtration tasks.
The filters have a stated outer diameter of 47 mm, making them suitable for compatible 47 mm filtration holders and assemblies. Users should confirm holder compatibility before use. The stated thickness is 0.55 ± 0.1 mm, with a stated media weight of 117 ± 13 g/m². This supports a consistent filter format for routine laboratory handling and repeatable filtration setup. The stated water flow rate is ≥166.62 mL/cm²·min at -0.093 MPa using water. This supports efficient aqueous sample filtration where the chemistry of the sample is compatible with glass fibre media and the organic binder.
The stated bubble point is ≥0.028 MPa. This specification helps indicate the wet filter’s resistance to air passage under the stated test condition and supports filter quality assessment. Because the media includes an organic binder, users should check chemical compatibility before use with strong solvents, aggressive reagents or specialised analytical methods that require binder-free glass fibre filters.
LabChoice Australia supplies Glass Fibre Membrane Filters for school laboratories, university teaching labs, research facilities, water testing workflows and general laboratory filtration applications. They are suitable for supervised filtration, sample preparation and particulate removal using compatible filtration equipment.
