Description
The Electrostatic Magic Wand Fly Stick Demonstration Kit, also known as an electrostatic levitation wand, is designed for demonstrating electrostatics in school physics laboratories, science classrooms and hands-on STEM activities.
The wand provides a fun and visual way to introduce static electricity. When used with the supplied mylar tinsel flying shapes, students can observe the shapes floating, dancing and moving through the air as electrostatic charge interaction takes place. The kit is supplied with 1 fly stick levitation wand, 5 pre-cut mylar tinsel flying shapes and a manual. This makes it suitable for teacher demonstrations, group activities and introductory lessons on electrostatic energy and charge behaviour.
The fly stick can also be used for other simple electrostatics demonstrations, including bending a stream of water, moving aluminium cans, floating bubbles and showing attraction or repulsion between charged materials. The supplied wand size is listed as approximately 48.5 × 2.5 cm, but the dimension should be confirmed before publication because the original specification contains a minor unit typo. The product is sold as each, with a full carton quantity listed as 60 pieces. The unit requires 2 AA batteries, which are not included. Batteries should be fitted and used according to the manual, and the product should be used under appropriate classroom supervision.
Spare flyers are available as a replacement option for repeated classroom demonstrations. These are suitable when the original mylar flying shapes are worn, damaged or need to be replaced for ongoing teaching activities.
