Description
The Single Contact Key with Lock Down Contact, also known as a laboratory circuit key or Morse code key, is designed for basic electricity and electronic circuit demonstrations. The contact key is built with two binding posts for connection into a compatible electrical circuit. A large button is used to open and close the circuit, and the button is made from insulating material to support safer handling during low-voltage classroom activities. The lock down contact feature allows the contact to be held closed when a maintained circuit connection is required during approved demonstrations.
The key is mounted on a 50 × 110 mm black acrylic base, providing a compact and stable platform for bench demonstrations. This apparatus is useful for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and STEM classrooms studying simple circuits, switching, current flow and signalling. It can also be used to simulate Morse code, helping students connect electrical switching with practical communication concepts. Users should confirm the power source, voltage, current, wiring method, binding post compatibility and approved experiment procedure before use.
This contact key should be used only with suitable low-voltage educational circuits. Do not connect to mains electricity or circuits exceeding the product’s intended classroom use. This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate teacher or laboratory supervision. This item is supplied as the single contact key with lock down contact only. Power supply, wires, bulbs, buzzers, resistors, Morse code accessories and additional circuit components are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Contact Keys and electrical circuit demonstration equipment for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical apparatus for electricity and electronics experiments.
