Description
This electric motor and generator kit is a single small DC motor fitted with a two-step pulley for energy conversion demonstrations. The unit is clamped to the bench with the pulley overhanging the edge, allowing a thin cord to be wound onto the pulley to lift a known weight. This setup supports measurement of electrical work input and comparison with the mechanical work output when raising the weight.
The same arrangement can be reversed by allowing the weight to fall, driving the pulley and motor so it operates as a generator to recover electrical output from kinetic energy.
