Description
Photoelectric experiment components for demonstrating the photoelectric effect and measuring photocurrent with stopping or backing voltage, using a caesium and antimony on silver oxide coated phototube cathode. Options include a photocell tube on a terminal base, plus complete digital meter experiment units with either lamp and colour filters or selectable LEDs for faster, clearer measurements.
Photoelectric Cell Base with Terminals, 90CG Gas-Filled Tube, Visible Red to Blue
Simple photoelectric cell (90CG) mounted on a base with terminals for connection to a power source. The gas-filled photocell is sensitive in the visible region from red to blue. The photo tube cathode is coated with caesium and antimony on silver oxide. For a complete self-contained photoelectric experiment unit for demonstrating the phenomena and for calculating Planck’s constant, see
Photoelectric Effect Planck’s Apparatus, Dual Digital Meters, Lamp and Colour Filters
Photoelectric effect experiment unit with two separate meters. One meter displays the current through the photo tube in 0.1 nanoamps, and the other displays the backing volts that brings the current to exactly zero. With both readings visible without switching, experiments are faster and less confusing. Light source uses a white light source with colour filters. The photo tube cathode is coated with caesium and antimony on silver oxide.
Photoelectric Effect Planck’s Apparatus, Dual Digital Meters, 5 Selectable LEDs
Photoelectric effect experiment unit with two separate meters. One meter displays the current through the photo tube in 0.1 nanoamps, and the other displays the backing volts that brings the current to exactly zero. With both readings visible without switching, experiments are faster and less confusing. Light source is by LEDs selectable from the front panel. If a white light source and colour filters are preferred, this can also be performed, but the light source and filters are no longer part of the kit and would need to be purchased separately or borrowed from an older model instrument. The unit is powered by a 12 V AC or DC plug pack (not supplied) or by banana plugs from any normal school power supply. The photo tube cathode is coated with caesium and antimony on silver oxide.
