Description
The Nickel Crucibles with Lids, also known as nickel laboratory crucibles, are designed for selected laboratory heating, melting and alkali fusion applications where nickel compatibility is required. These crucibles are listed as 99% pure nickel, with the remaining 1% made up of trace alloys including copper. Each crucible is supplied with a matching lid for compatible laboratory use.
The range includes 15 mL, 25 mL, 50 mL and 70 mL capacity options, allowing users to select the required size for their sample volume and heating workflow.
Supplied compatibility guidance lists nickel crucibles as suitable for melting or fusion work with NaOH, sodium carbonate and sodium hydrogen carbonate, subject to the approved laboratory method and operating conditions. Nickel crucibles are not suitable for potassium sulphate, sodium hydrogen sulphate, potassium bisulfate, pyrosulfates or borax. These materials should not be used in this crucible range. The following metals should also not be used with or inside nickel crucibles, as they may cause oxidation and damage: aluminium, zinc, lead, tin and mercury.
The supplied temperature guidance notes that temperatures above approximately 700°C may result in oxidation of the crucible. Users should confirm the required heating temperature, chemical compatibility and furnace or burner method before use. These crucibles are suitable for supervised laboratory procedures, chemistry teaching demonstrations, sample preparation activities and selected alkali fusion workflows where nickel is compatible with the material being heated. Nickel crucibles should be handled with suitable crucible tongs, heat-resistant gloves and approved PPE. Heated crucibles must be allowed to cool safely before handling or cleaning. This item is supplied as the selected nickel crucible with lid only. Furnace, burner, tongs, chemicals, desiccator, weighing equipment and additional accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Nickel Crucibles with Lids for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories, chemistry laboratories, sample preparation areas and general laboratory environments requiring nickel crucibles for compatible heating applications.
