Description
The IEC digital electrometer is designed for measuring extremely small voltages, currents, and electric charge with very high input impedance, making it suitable for electrostatics and high-resistance measurement work. Voltage ranges are 0–2, −20, −200, and −2,000 mV. Current ranges are 0–2, −20, −200, and −2,000 nA (nanoamps). Charge measurement range is 0–2,000 nC (nanocoulombs).
It is used for measuring electrostatic charge, very small currents passing through an insulator, charge associated with an electrostatic rod, capacitor charging behaviour, and measurements involving Aepinus capacitors and related electrostatics experiments where standard meters are not sensitive enough.
