IEC timing and counting instruments for physics laboratories, including microprocessor controlled timers with 0.1 ms resolution ranges, 20 memory storage functions, and multiple operating modes for start stop, photogate, period and pendulum timing. Options cover battery powered LCD multi timer for student use, low voltage and mains powered LED timer counter frequency units with selectable counting intervals and sensitivity control, timer variants with photogate power and free fall solenoid control outputs, dual gate timing for air track experiments, and a multi counter combining timer, frequency, Geiger counting with adjustable tube high voltage, plus audio amplifier and oscilloscope outputs.

IEC multi timer microprocessor controlled for extreme accuracy, runs from 3 x AA dry cells. If buttons are not pressed for 2 to 3 minutes it turns off, and when re powered all readings and memories are restored. Does not calculate velocity or acceleration and runs only one external circuit, but two photogates can be used for starting and stopping the timer in different modes. Auto ranging permits times up to 1.9999 s with 0.1 ms resolution, 19.999 s by 1.0 ms and 199.99 s by 10 ms. Stores 20 memories that can be averaged, totalled, purged or cleared. Described as rugged, very fast, safe in student hands and low cost with a good range of functions.

Compact timer counter frequency instrument running from a 240/12V AC plug pack. Bright red LED 6 digit display. Times up to 99.9999 s with 0.1 ms resolution and continues to 999.999 s by 1 ms. Mode button permits timing of stop start, photogate, period and pendulum. Stores up to 20 readings. Counting function can be set to continuous count, counts over 100 s, counts over 10 s, counts over 1 s, or frequency in Hz. Rotary control permits sensitivity adjustment of the counting input.

 

Compact timer counter frequency instrument running from 240V AC mains. Bright red LED 6 digit display. Times up to 99.9999 s with 0.1 ms resolution and continues to 999.999 s by 1 ms. Mode button permits timing of stop start, photogate, period and pendulum. Stores up to 20 readings. Counting function can be set to continuous count, counts over 100 s, counts over 10 s, counts over 1 s, or frequency in Hz. Rotary control permits sensitivity adjustment of the counting input.

Special constant current output on rear panel for IEC free fall experiment (LC-80-MF1871-401) to energise solenoid holding steel balls, when timing begins ball drops automatically. Microprocessor controlled and very fast. Auto ranging permits times up to 99.9999 s by 0.0001 s and up to 999.999 s by 0.001 s. Selectable modes are start stop, photogate, period and pendulum. Stores 20 memories that can be added, averaged, purged or cleared.

 

Mains operated dual timer for linear air tracks, connects to two separate photogates and can measure and store the two times separately for later recall. When not using an air track with photogates, can be used as a general lab timer. Described as a variation to the high speed timer with timing to 0.1 milliseconds and large LED display for classroom reading. Can also control dropping of a ball on an IEC free fall apparatus and measure fall time, with rear socket for this application.

 

IEC multi counter combining frequency, Geiger counting and audio amplifier with speaker, described as most powerful in the IEC timer range. 220/240V AC mains operated with bright red LED display and sloping front panel. Fully featured fast timer with 20 memories and stated performance like the referenced LC-80-LB4064-101 timer model, with power for photogates on the front panel. Includes Geiger tube output with adjustable high voltage to the tube, suitable tube and cable not supplied. Provides special output for solid state alpha detector, noted as no longer available accessory. Geiger counts measured over preset times, rate per second or continuous. Audio amplifier has volume control for internal speaker and 4 mm sockets for output to oscilloscope.
