Description
Magnesium Ribbon Reel 25 g is supplied as a 25 g roll of magnesium ribbon, approximately 14.5 metres in length, 3 mm wide and 0.25 mm thick. The declared composition is 99% magnesium with 1% zinc and lead.
When burned, magnesium produces an extremely bright white light and releases substantial heat, forming a flaky white magnesium oxide residue. The light intensity is high, avoid looking at the flame directly for more than a few seconds. UV-blocking safety goggles are recommended. Once ignition begins, magnesium ribbon can be difficult to extinguish.
EUD is required for purchase of this product (Cat. 2). For laboratory or educational settings only, use under appropriate supervision.
