The IEC clinostat is an electric rotating stand for close study of small plants grown from seeds and shoots. A rugged motor rotates at 4 revolutions per hour and turns a sponge platform under a transparent cover. Plants and shoots can be pinned to the sponge, and the cover is easily removed for spraying water during growth observation.
Continuous rotation helps distribute light more evenly around the plants and reduces the tendency for growth to sag in one direction under gravity, supporting clearer comparison of growth progress over time. The unit runs on 220/240 V mains and is supplied with a removable mains cable.
