Description
The Colony Counter Model 570 is a 240 V, 50 Hz digital colony counting instrument designed for counting bacteria colonies on agar plates across different Petri dish sizes. Solid-state circuitry and a pressure sensor counting system provide uniform sensitivity across the full working field, supporting consistent counting over the entire plate surface.
Illumination is provided by an electronic ring-shaped lamp. With a touch, the fluorescent lamp can illuminate directly or indirectly across the Petri plate for steady, no-glare, quiet lighting to support comfortable viewing during longer counting sessions. Counts register up to 9999 on a bright red LED display, and a reset button enables immediate zeroing back to 0.
The flexible adjuster accepts 10 cm to 15 cm Petri dishes. An adjustable focusing arm positions the magnifying lens at various angles and heights, and can accommodate lenses of different magnification. The standard 1.5× lens can be raised or lowered, and the lens can rotate 360° for easy access to plates. The background plate can be switched to white or black to improve contrast depending on the sample.
Intelligent counting allows registration using any marking pen. Each registered count is confirmed by an audible beeper signal. Unit size is 30 × 33 × 10 cm, weight 5 kg. For laboratory or educational settings only, use under appropriate supervision.
