Description
The Iron Slotted Weights and Hanger for Laboratory Use, also known as heavy slotted iron masses, are designed for physics, mechanics and educational experiments requiring larger hanging loads. These products are suitable for laboratory and classroom demonstrations involving force, mass, gravity, tension, pulleys, levers, friction, springs and load comparison activities.
The 0.5 kg iron slotted weight is made from cast iron with a black hammer tone paint finish. It has a large central hole and a small slot designed to help prevent the mass from sliding off a compatible hanger during approved use.
The 0.5 kg weight has a listed size of approximately 80 mm diameter × 35 mm high, with a 10 mm wide slot and accuracy listed as ±5%.
The 1 kg iron slotted weight is supplied as the individual 1 kg weight only. It has a listed tolerance of 1% and measures approximately 95 mm diameter × 30 mm high.
The 1 kg iron slotted hanger is supplied as the hanger only. It measures approximately 440 mm high × 90 mm base × 9.5 mm rod and is designed to take 9 × 1 kg slotted weights.
These heavy slotted weights and hangers support practical mechanics experiments where students need to build controlled loads using compatible apparatus.
