Description
The Nitinol Memory Wire Kit, also known as a shape memory alloy demonstration kit, is designed for teaching how certain materials can be programmed to a shape and return to that shape when heated. This wire is commonly called nitinol wire or memory wire. It can be shaped during the demonstration procedure and then heated to show the memory effect, where the wire returns toward its programmed form. The kit includes approximately 110 mm memory wire, instructions and forceps, giving teachers and students the key components required for a supervised classroom material science demonstration.
This product is useful for lessons covering smart materials, alloys, thermal response, elasticity, deformation, recovery and the behaviour of shape memory metals. The wire should be heated only according to the supplied instructions and approved laboratory procedure. Users should confirm the heating method, temperature control, handling method and safety requirements before use. Use forceps when handling the wire after heating. Hot wire may cause burns, and cut wire ends may be sharp. Keep hands, eyes and loose items away from heated wire during the demonstration.
This product is intended for laboratory or educational settings only and should be used under appropriate supervision. This item is supplied as the memory wire kit with forceps and instructions only. Wire is not sold separately as listed. Heating equipment, power supplies, burners, thermometers, PPE, worksheets and additional material science accessories are not included unless specified separately.
LabChoice Australia supplies Memory Wire Kits and material science teaching equipment for school science laboratories, university teaching laboratories and educational facilities requiring practical tools for shape memory alloy demonstrations.
