Description
This law of conservation of mass experiment bottle is designed to clearly demonstrate that total mass remains constant in a sealed system, even when a chemical reaction produces gas. Students measure the mass of the reactor containing two chemicals before mixing, then measure again after the reaction, and compare results.
The demonstration uses the reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium hydrogen carbonate. A special rubber sealing ring is designed to completely seal the gas produced during the reaction, helping keep all products contained for accurate before-and-after mass comparison. Bottle size is 65 × 150 mm.
