Modular water bath system designed to run from an IEC hot plate, supplied either as the bath only or as a separate thermostat temperature controller that clips to the bath edge to regulate the hot plate and hold bath temperature constant. The bath design supports stable bench use with sliding ends for compact storage, and can be used wet or as a dry oven, referenced as part of IEC’s new gas chromatograph setup.

Useful water bath powered by an IEC hot plate. Two test tube stands can fit so biological work is low cost and convenient. The ends of the bath slide down to rest on the work bench for stable support and slide up to provide the smallest size for storage. The bath can be used also as a dry oven and will form an important part of IEC’s new gas chromatograph. A thermostat control fits to the edge of the bath to control the hot plate so the water temperature is held constant, this control is purchased separately. For approximate temperature control, careful adjustment of the hot plate heat regulator can keep the bath reasonably steady but not as regulated and accurate as the thermostat unit.

Thermostat control that fits to the edge of the IEC water bath to control the hot plate so the water temperature in the bath is held constant. Purchased separately from the bath. The thermostat element slides down to the inner corner of the bath so that it is submerged when only a small volume of water is used. The bath can be used also as a dry oven and will form an important part of IEC’s new gas chromatograph. The temperature controller can maintain a set temperature in the bath either wet or dry and, when dry, to avoid overheating it is best that the probe presses against the inside face of the bath so it checks the temperature of the metal bath itself. For approximate temperature control, careful adjustment of the hot plate heat regulator can keep the bath reasonably steady but not as regulated and accurate as the thermostat unit.
