Description

The Fast-Freeze Flask for Lyophilisation, also known as a borosilicate glass freeze-drying flask, is designed for laboratory freeze-drying workflows where samples need to be prepared, frozen and connected to compatible lyophilisation drying chambers. It is suitable for research laboratories, pharmaceutical laboratories, biotechnology laboratories, university laboratories and sample preparation facilities. The flask is made from G3.3 borosilicate glass, supporting high thermal resistance and reliable performance during suitable laboratory freeze-drying procedures. The supplied material specifications list an annealing point of 560°C, softening point of 820°C or higher and a linear expansion coefficient of 32 × 10⁻⁷/°C.

The flask is designed for use with a 47 mm diameter filter membrane. This supports controlled sample handling during lyophilisation workflows where membrane compatibility, drying chamber connection and clean sample preparation are important. The unit is compatible with standard 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch valve ports. It can be used with suitable adapters on compatible drying chambers, including EYELA, LABCONCO and VIRTIS systems, where the valve port size and connection format match the flask setup. The supplied component list includes a glass tube, silicone lid and vessel. Adapter options are listed in borosilicate glass and stainless steel, allowing users to select the correct adapter type according to their lyophiliser system and laboratory workflow.
The maximum flask temperature is listed as 490°C, while the maximum topper temperature is listed as 450°C. Users should confirm the operating conditions, freeze-drying method, adapter compatibility and sample requirements before use.
Replacement tops, bottoms and filter paper are available separately, supporting longer-term maintenance and continued use in routine freeze-drying workflows. Laboratories should inspect all glassware, seals and connection parts before each use.

LabChoice Australia supplies Fast-Freeze Flasks for lyophilisation laboratories, pharmaceutical R&D facilities, biotechnology laboratories, university research laboratories, food science laboratories and sample preparation workspaces. They are suitable for freeze-drying, lyophilisation sample preparation and drying chamber connection using compatible 47 mm filter membranes, valve ports, adapters and validated laboratory procedures.
